The new year already looks bleak.

With terror unending

And MAGA ascending,

I think I’ll just stand still and shriek.

A Happy New Year, gentle reader –

And as we await the Dear Leader,

Let’s temper our dread

And focus instead

On how to elect his succeeder

Headline: World Says Goodbye to Difficult Year

It wasn’t a red-letter year;

Just virus and violence and fear.

But now it’s behind us,

Which serves to remind us,

We made it. It’s over. We’re here.
